What health conditions increase your risk for firearm suicide
Common situations that make firearms more dangerous:
- A recent health diagnosis, including early forms of dementia
- Having ongoing pain
- Feeling isolated and alone
- Depression
- Frequent alcohol and/or drug use
- Loss of independence (instead of above language about feeling dependent)
- Loss of hope / hopelessness
- Loss of a loved one
- Are there other events (like loss of a loved one)?
